Avex DVD Ripper Platinum is an easy to use application that helps you extract video from DVD movies to popular formats like AVI, Xvid/DivX, WMV, MPEG, MP4(H.264, MPEG4) that can be played on portable devices including iPod, PSP, Pocket PC, Palm, Mobile Phone, Zune.
You can select subtitle and audio track, set starting point and duration of movie clip to extract, configure output settings like codec, frame rate, bit rate, sampling, and channels or use a preset profile for the desired player (iPod, Mobile 3GP, PSP Mp4, etc.). Additionally you can choose aspect ratio, audio volume, video brightness, split output to several pieces, and let the program automatically shutdown your computer after the process is done.
The program also includes a small preview window with all the options to reproduce your DVD movie, and features a PSP Video Transfer tool to help you send your extracted clips to a Sony PSP device.
This is a nice option for those who need to extract video clips or entire movies from their DVD collection to a variety of formats and don't need many editing tools (no crop or effects are supported). If you want to test this software, a free trial is available for download.
